Lobbyist Harvey Whittemore apparently gave $5,000 checks to his friends and family, and asked each of them to use the money to donate to Harry Reid’s campaign fund, thereby skirting campaign finance laws.

Harry Reid probably thinks that he is off the hook after raking in $150,000 in illegal campaign contributions promised to Reid by a former lobbyist, and convicted felon.

We think that Harry Reid knew he was taking dirty money, and he should be held accountable for his corruption.

A former Nevada powerbroker was convicted Wednesday of making illegal campaign contributions to U.S. Sen. Harry Reid.

A federal jury reached the verdict in the case against real estate developer and once powerful lobbyist Harvey Whittemore.

The jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on charges of making excessive campaign contributions, making contributions in the name of another and causing a false statement

I say, go for it Republicans, because if you do support the weakening of the 2nd Amendment, Republican pussies will lose their asses in the next election as well.

An increasing number of lawmakers in both parties appear willing to compromise on high-capacity magazines, the one component of gun control legislation that seems palatable to Republicans who view a full ban on assault weapons as politically toxic.

The New York Times reports that there appears to be some willingness on both sides to limit the type of magazines that can hold 15 and 30 rounds that have been used in mass shootings like those in Newtown, Conn.; Tucson, Ariz.; and Aurora, Colo.

Cheryl Saban is the wife of a major Obama donor, Univision chairman Haim Saban, who has given Democrats over $1 million in 2012, and has donated at least $333,333 to Obama’s Super PAC, Priorities USA.

It has also been reported that “Cheryl Saban’s nomination comes less than a month after her husband penned a New York Times op-ed defending President Obama’s Israel record.”

Corrupt hack Harry Reid seems to have abused his power when he blocked attempts to increase renewable energy production by NV Energy in Nevada, only to then push hard to support a green energy project by a Chinese company that his son, Rory Reid, represents.

Say this about U.S. Sen. Harry Reid: He really believes in renewable energy.

Reid has beat up NV Energy pretty good in recent years. In the closing days of the George W. Bush administration, Reid blocked plans to build coal-fired power plants in Nevada. He said in April on the “Nevada Newsmakers” show, “I don’t think NV Energy has done enough to allow renewable energy to thrive.”

But that same month, NV Energy reported it had exceeded its state-imposed green-energy requirement of 15 percent by purchasing 16.7 percent of its power from renewable sources. And that was in spite of the Public Utilities Commission rejecting a handful of renewable contracts in July 2011, saying the company hadn’t justified the purchases were necessary
