I don’t know why this hasn’t occured to me until now, but how many of the drugs that you see advertised on TV say they have an unintended side effect that makes the user want to kill themselves? We have known for a long time that some ADHD medications can cause side effects like irritability, agitation, and/or aggression, but if someone is experiencing intense sadness & hopelessness caused by the drugs they are being prescribed, are the drugs also causing kids to want to kill other people? We think that is highly likely!
In the overwhelming majority of cases prescribing SSRI’s to kids is dangerous.
They change who they are. They cause depression, despair and suicidal ideation.

I have always said that the drugs being given to all of the kids nowdays is a huge problem in the health of today’s kids, but how do we know that the crapload of drugs being given to kids are not directly causing the increase in the violence of mentally-ill kids?
Antidepressants, antiepileptics, and some antipsychotics include FDA black box warnings for increased risk of suicide, particularly in adolescents and young adults, who may experience intense sadness, hopelessness, and self-destructive behaviors, so whats to stop someone in that state of mind from killing other people? Probably not much.
We believe that the only thing preventing a “Homicidal side effect” black box warning on these drugs appears to only be due to the lack of studies into the obvious problem.
