Dick’s Sporting Goods is not only refusing to sell firearms at their stores, but now Dick’s is actually attacking the US Constitution and helping anti 2nd amendment douchebags to take away the gun rights of American citizens.
Dick’s Sporting Goods will never again see one red cent of my money, and I may we think that all people who want to keep their rights to own firearms feel the same way, and will hold Dick’s Sporting Goods accountable for their actions.
All Americans who believe in the 2nd amendment, and value their rights to possess firearms need to completely boycott Dick’s Sporting Goods, and even return anything that you still have receipts for.
We could now even make a prediction for Dick’s now that they have come out an anti 2nd amendment nutjobs…
PREDICTION: Dick’s Sporting Goods will (hopefully) be bankrupt and out of business within a couple years, or bought out by a company who hasn’t shot their own dicks off.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is taking its anti-gun agenda one step beyond simply refusing to sell AR-15s and other “assault-style” weapons (as they define it) in their sporting goods and outdoor equipment stores. The retail chain has hired three lobbyists to actively push anti-gun legislation in Congress.
According to The Federalist, which found the company’s LD-1 lobbying disclosure forms through the Senate, Dick’s Sporting Goods hired one Republican and two Democratic lobbyists from the Washington, D.C. firm, Glover Park Group. The lobbyists, all former Congressional legislative aides, list that they will be handling “lobbying related to gun control.”
“The three lobbyists tapped by Dick’s to push for gun control are listed by name in the federal disclosure forms, which are required by the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 to be filed quarterly: Joel Johnson, who worked for both President Bill Clinton and Senate Democrat leadership; Andrew King, who worked for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.); and Christina Brown, a former staffer for Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.),” The Federalist reported.
The effective date of registration is only April 27, so the lobbyists have yet to get to work.
Dick’s took an unusually strong stand for a sporting goods retailer in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, mass shooting. Just a day or so after the incident, Dick’s announced that it was pulling all “assault-style” rifles from its shelves (the retailer stopped selling such rifles in 2012, after Sandy Hook, but the parent company of a Bass Pro Shop-type outdoor store had some available).
Dick’s announced last week that it would be destroying those rifles rather than selling them back to the manufacturers, presumably so that the handful of hunting rifles would be kept out of the “wrong hands.” Now, it seems, the store wants to advocate against retail gun sales generally.
