Go take your medications Nancy. They seem to be wearing off.
“Under this bill, when the Republicans vote for this bill today, they will be voting to say that women can die on the floor, and healthcare providers do not have to intervene, if this bill is passed. It’s just appalling”
Watch this video of Nasty Pelosi trying to explain how Republicans want women to “die on the floor”.
Nancy Pelosi is an unhinged, vile, lying SKANK!!
If people want to get abortions under Obamacare, then they an either pay for it themselves, or Nancy Pelosi can pay for it, but I will not give one cent to pay for abortions.
President Obama’s press secretary indicated that Obama will veto a pro-life bill in the House that Republicans say merely legislates Obama’s own executive order.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney criticized the Protect Life Act as “a divisive, politically motivated piece of legislation that unnecessarily restricts the private insurance choices that women and their families have today.” Carney added that “the President’s senior advisors will recommend that he veto this legislation if it is presented to him.”
During a contentious subcommittee hearing earlier this year, Republicans laid out the argument that this bill merely reinforces existing barriers to taxpayer funding of abortion. Obamacare “opened the door, for the first time in decades, to government financing of abortion,” said Rep. Joe Pitts, R-Pa., chair of the Subcommittee on Health. “The government does not finance abortions and has not done so for decades thanks to the Hyde amendment.”
Pitts added that “the President has on at least two occasions affirmed what we are doing here today” with the Protect Life Act, citing a 2009 speech and Obama’s famous executive order against taxpayer funding of abortion under Obamacare.
Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif., rejected Pitts’ argument during the subcommittee hearing, saying that bill “isn’t about tax dollars or about protecting provider conscience. Instead it is about chipping away the legal rights of women including the right to receive life-saving treatment.” Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, countered that the bill “is not applying restrictions. It merely stems the status quo [that] taxpayer dollars will not be used to subsidize elective abortions.”
Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., said that the bill under consideration would cause there to “be no insurance policy for anybody buying in an exchange for health insurance to get a policy that would cover the termination of a pregnancy even when it is medically necessary.” Waxman described the bill as “an assault on women’s reproductive health and their constitutional rights to choose when to bear children.”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said that Republicans who support the bill “will be voting to say that women can die on the floor and health care providers do not have to intervene.” Burgess, a former doctor, said that the bill “does not change or alter the practice of medicine or the responsibility of of physicians in any way.”
