The perennial disappointment of the St Louis Blues continues after the Chicago Blackhawks take the final four games of the first round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, after the Blues jumped out to a 2-0 lead.
Once again, the St Louis Blues have turned a great season into an embarrassing loser, and one that will most likely end up decreasing their fan base by a large margin.
Mostly due to one stupid decision – trading Jaroslav Halák for Ryan Miller.
The St Louis Blues traded their goalie Jaroslav Halák, whose great goaltending had the team in 1st place for most of the season, for goalie Ryan Miller, who was supposed to be an upgrade from Halák, but ended up being a definite downgrade, and most of the reason why the Blues squandered a 2-0 lead in the series.
Why would you change team dynamics just before the playoffs, and trade a hot goalie who I believe had beaten the Blackawks 4 times this season for a new goalie?
Sure the Blues could have played better, but Blues goalie Ryan Miller let in some very weak goals at critical points of the playoffs to seal yet another complete failure of a season, after collecting the most points in team history. Miller should be embarrassed!
Whoever the idiot is in the Blues’ front office who’s idea it was to make the trade for Miller should be fired.
One thing is for sure, next year the seats at the Scottrade Center will not be as full, as fans have had enough of giving their hearts and soul to cheer on a team who will end up choking the season away at the last minute.
Ryan Miller, when asked what his plans were now that he blew our playoff run, his answer was “I don’t know. I guess I’m free to go to my sister-in-law’s wedding. That’s about it.” WHAT?? Fuck You Ryan Miller! You Suck, and I hope the Blues trade you back.
Personally I will always be a St Louis Blues fan, but no longer will I be paying hard-earned money to go watch a team who will end up breaking the hearts of an entire city due to stupid last minute moves.
On a brighter note, 33-year-old goalie Ryan Miller is an unrestricted free agent, and I seriously doubt that the St Louis Blues will re-sign him. Maybe they an bring back Halák, if he would even want to come back.
Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks. You were definitely the better team in the playoffs.
