So New Orleans is once again facing dearth and destruction from the latest hurricane, but who is surprised by this? Seriously? When you build cities at or below the waterline, or in flood plains, then you should EXPECT to be washed out every few years. We would hope that after a few of these “tragedies” that people would smarten up and stop building there.
The rapid onset of storm surge from #HurricaneIda could be seen this morning from Grand Isle, Louisiana. If you're being told to shelter in place during a storm by local authorities, don't risk it, you could be overtaken quickly in a matter of hours as shown here. pic.twitter.com/oJ5WXYxNKM

So now all of us will probably have higher insurance rates because people want to keep re-building in a flood plain that has no chance whatsoever of being a permanent fixture, as it will be destroyed in the next flood – and the whole cycle of flushing billions of dollars down the toilet begins again.
We’re sure SOMEONE is getting rich off our government dumping money after the “catastrophes” that destroy the same areas every few years – And no, hurricanes and bad weather is not caused by man-made global warming, no matter what the idiots in the fake news and fake science continue to brainwash you with.
I say they are not “catastrophes” if you know it’s going to happen. At that point it’s neglect, indifference or greed steering the ship in Louisiana.
A slow-moving Hurricane Ida has left all of Orleans Parish customers without power due to “catastrophic transmission damage,” according to Entergy New Orleans.
The intense storm had caused all eight transmission lines into the New Orleans area to go down, spokesman Brandon Scardigli said in an emailed statement. That created a load imbalance that knocked all power generation in the region offline, Scardigli said.
From WWL-TV reporter David Hammer, “BREAKING @WWLTV: New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board has lost all three feeder lines from Entergy. That means the agency lost 12 megawatts of 60-cycle power to run its newer drainage pumps and is left with only Turbine 6 to make 15 megawatts in-house. #HurricaneIda”
