Police Mishandling Injured Suspects Is A Very Bad Idea – But Seems To Be Very Common After High-Speed Chases

So, these cops, who appear to be Arkansas State Police, just caught someone after performing a TVI on his fleeing truck, and causing the vehicle to roll over at least once, and possibly more times. Then the cops proceed to drag the injured man out of his truck, and rough him up even more before dragging him by his arms and violently stuffing him into the police car. Something seems very wrong about this video!

I’m all for catching the bad guys, and even making people wreck to stop dangerous chases, but after you force someone’s vehicle to roll over, I think the police should take a LOT more care of the suspect than these officers did. The police need to make sure that they don’t further injure a suspect by how they handle the subject after being taken into custody. Possibly permanently.

If this guy got an injury in his neck or back during the rollover, and then gets violently manhandled afterwards by the pimped-up police officers, that could easily paralyze someone. And now the police department, city, and officers involved are lookin at multi-million dollar lawsuits, and maybe even a criminal charge if caught on video like this one was..

These cops had the guy already out of the vehicle and handcuffed. They didn’t need to drag him by his arms and shoulders, which can cause shoulder and elbow injuries. And the police certainly shouldn’t be violently stuffing an injured suspect into a car while the suspect yells that he is injured but is ignored.

On Saturday May 20th 2023 at approximately 3:22pm ASP Trooper Tyler Van Schoyck advised Trooper Anna Escamilla, about Christopher Monroe, a known wanted subject in the central Arkansas area. Monroe was known to flee and had active felony warrants out of Sherwood Arkansas. A decision was made that when possible, Troopers would attempt to box Monroe in to avoid a vehicle pursuit. Monroe was driving was a 2020 Black GMC. Trooper Escamilla became the lead car in front of Monroe to push him towards the shoulder. Monroe struck the right side of Escamilla’s and was able to escape. She tried but was unsuccessful in disabling Monroe’s vehicle. A pursuit ensued throughout the Pulaski County area.

The subject was apprehended after a successful TVI. While conducting a search of the vehicle, Troopers located a suitcase in the bed of the truck which contained cocaine and methamphetamine. They also located a safe in the middle of the road along with all of the debris. Inside the safe was a Taurus Revolver Firearm, a number of packages of marijuana, U.S Currency, and a plastic bag containing green M30 pills suspected of being Fentanyl located inside a green Crown Royal bag that was inside the safe. Trooper Shumate located a backpack containing small baggies of crushed Xanax pills, a bag of black tar heroin, 2 prescription bottles of Xanax, 1 bottle containing several MDMA pills, and an additional amount of U.S Currency and two cell phones.
