Patriotic MLB Players Show NFL Dickheads How To Respect America During National Anthem

While the NFL is supporting the anti-American actions of some of it’s dickhead players, 2 Major League Baseball (MLB) players compete to see who is the MOST patriotic.

Before the Reds / Brewers game, two players (Brewers player Manny Pina & Reds player Hernan Iribarren) stayed at attention for over 10 minutes after the National anthem had ended, and only left their spot after the teams took the field, and the home plate umpire made them. No wonder why Baseball is America’s national past time.

The Brewers and the Reds have a history of competing to be the most patriotic.

Hernan Iribarren and Manny Pina just took “please rise for the National Anthem” to another level.

While 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick continues to make headlines for refusing to stand up, the Reds’ infielder Iribarren and Brewers’ catcher Manny Pina took their time sitting back down after the song played.

Iribarren and Pina both stood just outside their respective dugouts with their hands over their hearts, staring straight ahead after the Anthem stopped playing. The two remained where they were and glanced at one another to see who would blink first.

Eventually it was Pina who decided to give in and he walked back to the dugout before Iribarren did. According to the broadcast, the two stood their ground for 13 minutes and the game didn’t begin until the two were done.

Iribarren told MLB.com that he and Pina go back and the standoff was his first.

“I’ve seen some on TV and as soon as the anthem was over, I stood out for a second and then I saw to the other side and it happened to be a friend from my hometown and he just stood there and looked at me [and] moved his shoulder like, ‘Well, if we stand, we stand.’ I was like, ‘OK, I’m going to stay,’” Iribarren said. “And I got the guys behind me telling me, ‘Don’t move, don’t move, don’t move, if you’re going to stay there, you’ve got to win.’ So, I just kind of stood there.”

Red manager Bryan Price told MLB.com he’s never seen anything like it before, but was glad his team came out on top.
