Mr Holder said that he has every confidence that the people he appointed will “doggedly follow the facts and the evidence in pursuit of justice wherever it leads”, but we do not feel that this is the case, and have absolutely no confidence in Eric Holder, or anyone working for him to do the right thing.
The investigators appointed by Eric Holder are not intended to get to the bottom of the leaks by the Obama administration, and are only intended to “diffuse the situation and create ambiguity”. Eric Holder is an obstructionist who would never have his investigators go after the people in the Obama administration who have been leaking important classified security information to the media. (leaks that were designed to make Obama look strong, but really only made them look like weak pieces of crap, who care more about being re-elected than the security of the United States.)
So far, the Obama administration has leaked important classified security information such as:
- America’s role in creating the Stuxnet virus that attacked Iran’s nuclear program.
- News of that al Qaeda bomb plot in Yemen last month.
- Operational specifics of the SEAL raid that sent Osama bin Laden to his eternal reward — in such detail that future operations may have been precluded.
- Obama’s oversight of a “kill list” of alleged terrorist targets for drone strikes.
The Obama administration, and especially the Eric Holder Justice Department cannot be trusted, as they have shown time and time again that they feel they are above the law. Eric Holder himself is in contempt of Congress for stonewalling for over a year on the “Fast & Furious” Scandal & Coverup Investigation, and not providing the documents they are required to hand over.
It’s hard to believe, but I think Eric Holder may be more stupid than we thought, if he thought we would all go along with his fake show of concern. We need an independent special prosecutor to look into Obama’s leaks of national classified security information!
Obama said “The notion that my White House would purposely release classified national security information is offensive”. Yea, the Obama administration leaking sensitive and classified security information is doing is offensive to everyone who cares about this country, but Obama did not deny it was true.
Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday appointed two U.S. attorneys to lead a pair of criminal investigations into possible unauthorized disclosures of classified information, authorizing the two prosecutors to follow all appropriate investigative leads within the executive and legislative branches of government.
Ronald Machen, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, and Rod Rosenstein, the U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland, will direct separate probes that are currently being conducted by the FBI.
“These two highly respected and experienced prosecutors will be directing separate investigations,” Holder said in a statement. “I have every confidence in their abilities to doggedly follow the facts and the evidence in pursuit of justice wherever it leads.”
The attorney general said Machen and Rosenstein “are fully authorized to prosecute criminal violations discovered as a result of their investigations and matters related to those violations.”
Currently, Machen is leading a high-profile political corruption probe of officials in the District of Columbia. The latest development in that investigation came this week when District of Columbia Council chairman Kwame Brown resigned after being charged with lying about his income on bank loan applications.
Before becoming U.S. attorney, Machen helped lead the white-collar and internal investigation practices at the prominent Washington law firm of WilmerHale. He served as an assistant U.S. attorney from 1997 to 2001.
Rosenstein was an associate independent counsel who worked for Whitewater prosecutor Ken Starr from 1995 to 1997. He was co-counsel in the fraud trial of Jim and Susan McDougal, the former real estate partners of Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Both of the McDougals were convicted in a trial that also resulted in the conviction of then-Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker.
The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, said he hopes that the Justice Department brings “the full force of the law against these criminals.”
“We need to send a clear message to anyone who considers leaking sensitive information and putting Americans at risk: If you leak classified information, you will face jail time,” Smith said in a statement.
