Jimmy Kimmel went on the air and told his nonexistent audience that Charlie Kirk’s assassin was a MAGA conservative, and pretty much blamed Charlie Kirk for his own assassination. After that provable lie, Kimmel could have saved his show, but he refused to apologize on air, even though the FCC licenses for Disney, ABC, and their affiliates were in jeopardy.
Nexstar Media Group, which is the largest television station operator in the U.S., owning or operating over 200 stations across 116 markets, reaching about 68% of U.S. TV households, issued a statement late Wednesday saying that they would not air that night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and would preempt the show for the foreseeable future. ABC was pretty much forced to cancel Jimmy Kimmel Live! soon after.
