HBO seems to be claiming Trademark Infringement by a “Sanctions are Coming” meme that President Trump retweeted, which depicted the President of the United States walking out of the mist, with the words on top of the image.

Where is the trademark infringement though? What, are people not allowed to say that anything “is coming” anymore, just because “Winter is Coming” is a statement in the Game of Thrones show?

I don’t believe that the meme was actually created by President Trump, and doesn’t really even use the real GOT font, so where is the infringement?

I think HBO probably would like a redo on this one, because they really fucked it up, and now there will be 100x more Game of Thrones memes coming out in the next few weeks, starring President Trump and many other people who drive the left crazy. (We might even have to get in on the fun.)

President Donald Trump invoked “Game of Thrones” on Friday morning, tweeting an image of himself with the text “Sanctions Are Coming, November 5,” superimposed.

The president was referring to his administration’s plan to reimpose all sanctions against Iran that had been lifted as part of the 2015 nuclear agreement. The Trump administration announced Friday the sanctions would go into effect on Monday:

The meme was a play on the well-known “Game of Thrones” phrase “Winter is coming.”

The network also hinted at Trump’s post on Twitter, tweeting on Friday afternoon, “How do you say trademark misuse in Dothraki?”

“Game of Thrones” actors also voiced their displeasure. Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, invoked the show’s first season, when the character’s sword-fighting instructor tells her: “There is only one thing we say to death.”
