Why is Jessie Jackson Jr. taking a “medical leave of absence” from his U.S. Representative responsibilities, and not expected back on Capitol Hill for months?

Anybody with medical experience will tell you that exhaustion would most likely NOT be the true reason for the long leave of absence.

The more we learn about the situation, and the ethics investigation into allegations that Jackson considered lending campaign favors to former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich in exchange for the Senate seat being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama, it seems more likely that reports are true that Jessie Jackson Jr. did try to attempt suicide.

The mystery surrounding Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., deepened on Tuesday as speculation swirled around the Illinois Democrat’s health and political future.

Democratic sources say Jackson — who has not been on Capitol Hill since June 10 — may not return to the House until after the August congressional recess.

John Bryson Resigns Commerce Secretary Post

We sincerely hope that Commerce Secretary John E. Bryson is OK, if what caused the multiple accidents actually was a seizure.

It seems likely that a seizure could have caused Bryson to get into the quick succession of car accidents, and may have prevented him from using his better judgement to stay at the scenes of the accidents, but not a certainty, as far as the public knowledge is concerned. After all… we are dealing with Democrats here..

We also hope that there is the normal kind of investigations into the accidenta to get to the bottom of what happened, instead of taking Bryson’s story as fact without verifying the details.

Commerce Secretary John E. Bryson has resigned.

In a letter to President Barack Obama, Bryson says he chose to give up his cabinet position following a “recent seizure and medical leave of absence.”

The secretary was involved in two traffic accidents in the Los Angeles in early June as a result of a seizure, the government said.
