Good evening. I’m John Boehner. I serve as Speaker of the whole House — of the members of both parties that you elect. These are difficult times in the life of our nation. Millions are looking for work, have been for some time, and the spending binge going on in Washington is a big part of the reason why.

Before I served in Congress, I ran a small business in Ohio. I was amazed at how different Washington DC operated than every business in America. Where most American business make the hard choices to pay their bills and live within their means, in Washington more spending and more debt is business as usual.

I’ve got news for Washington – those days are over.

President Obama came to Congress in January and requested business as usual — yet another routine increase in the national debt limit — we in the House said ‘not so fast.’ Here

Boehner Ends Dead-End Debt Limit Talks With Tax-Hungry Obama

Obama and most of the Democrats are not honestly in favor of lowering the debt. They do want to raise the debt ceiling and jack up taxes to feed their out-of-control spending, impose more and more job-killing regulations to further damage the economy, and increase the size of the government to try and make us more dependent on the free handouts, as many already are.

Obama and the Democrats have had plenty of time to get the majority of our problems figured out, yet they waited until the last second on the debt problem because they wanted the American People to feel as though their backs were against the wall, and that a Democrat plan must be crammed through as soon as possible. They did the same thing with their socialist takeovers of private sector businesses, and the healthcare bill that none of the Democrats even read before passing.

Here is the letter from House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) that explains why he broke off the debt ceiling negotiations with President Obama.

Dear Colleague,

Our economy is not creating enough

‘Real Solution’ to Debt Not Possible With Obama as President

Mr. McConnell and House Speaker John Boehner have laid it on the line, and told the American People the truth, saying that a real solution to our debt problem is not possible as long as Obama is president.

Obama is really a closet socialist who will never give in to lower taxes and less entitlements for the good of the country, even though he HAS to know that lower taxes and less entitlement programs are the key to economic recovery.

A “real solution” to U.S. fiscal problems isn’t possible as long as President Barack Obama remains in office, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday, heightening the rhetoric surrounding the debt-ceiling debate.

Mr. McConnell, the Senate’s top Republican, and House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio), both blamed President Obama for the stalemate in the debt-ceiling and deficit-reduction talks, and urged the White House to break the impasse. Negotiations resumed for a third-straight day Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. McConnell said he had gone into negotiations in good faith over how to formulate a deficit-reduction package to accompany an increase in the statutory

Ultra-Corrupt Nancy Pelosi Wealth Rose 62% During Recession

Fitting that one of the most incompetent, most corrupt members of our government is also one of the most wealthy.
Was she using government information and pull to make her investments more lucrative?

I’d like to see an investigation into Nancy Pelosi’s finances to see if there may have been some laws broken in the process of getting rich during the worst recession since the Great Depression.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) saw her net worth rise 62 percent last year, cementing her status as one of the wealthiest members of Congress.

Pelosi was worth at least $35.2 million in the 2010 calendar year, according to a financial disclosure report released Wednesday. She reported a minimum of $43.4 million in assets and about $8.2 milion in liabilities.

For 2009, Pelosi reported a minimum net worth of $21.7 million.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) also remained a multimillionaire. He reported that his minimum net worth in 2010 was close to $2.1 million, with zero liabilities. His 2009 minimum net worth was more than $1.8 million.

Forms disclosing the assets and liabilities

Bipartisan Group of Lawmakers Sue President Obama Over ‘Illegal’ War in Libya

Obama’s military action in Libya has violated the 1973 War Powers Resolution because Mr. Obama sent our military to war without the consent of Congress.

Now a bipartisan group of lawmakers is filing a lawsuit against Mr. Obama to protect the American People from our incompetent President, who feels that he can do anything he likes because, as most Democrats feel, he is above the law.

A bipartisan group of House members announced on Wednesday that it is filing a lawsuit charging that President Obama made an illegal end-run around Congress when he approved U.S military action against Libya.

“With regard to the war in Libya, we believe that the law was violated. We have asked the courts to move to protect the American people from the results of these illegal policies,” said Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), who led the 10-member anti-war coalition with Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.).

The White House is expected on Wednesday to deliver to Congress a much-anticipated report detailing military activity in Libya.

According to Kucinich, the suit will challenge the Obama administration’s “circumvention of Congress
