CNN’s Alyson Camerota went into full victim blaming mode just hours after the Garland, Texas terror attack that left the would-be terrorists dead.
Interviewing Pamela Geller, organizer of the conference that included the Mohammed cartoon contest, Camerota wasted no time asking Geller why she would even host such an event.
“Did you get any intel from the police about just how dangerous an event like this could be?” Camerota asked.
Geller said if it is dangerous to hold an event where a religious figure is drawn, it is because of self-censorship taking over.
“Well, it’s dangerous because increasingly, we’re abridging our freedoms, so as not to offend savages. The very idea that if something offends me, or I don’t — or I’m insulted by something, I’ll kill you and that way I can get my way, and somehow this is okay with members of the elite media and academia is outrageous,” she said.
Geller pointed to many examples of art that has been offensive to Christians such as Jesus on a cross being submerged in a jar of urine.
“Did they slaughter people? Did they burn embassies? Did they kill whole communities? Of course not. This cannot be sanctioned. This cannot be sanctioned. The West must stand up for freedom of speech. It’s the core, fundamental element of this constitutional republic,” Geller said.
Camerota took issue with keynote speaker having said just before the shooting that Western Judeo-Christian culture is better than Islamic culture, in part because Islam does not allow free speech or get humor.
