Clemson Backstreets Pub & Deli May Go Under Due to Stupid Owner’s Attack on 2nd Amendment

So the owner of Backstreets Pub & Deli in Clemson calls gun owners “losers” and “douchebags”, and says “I do not want your business. Douchebag.”, but then claims that he is not a “big-ass liberal”. That’s not believable. I would bet just about anything that the owner of Backstreets Pub & Deli in Clemson actually is a “big-ass liberal”, and a “dumb-ass liberal” as well!

“NO CONCEALED WEAPONS ALLOWED,” the sign warns. “If you are such a loser that you feel a need to carry a gun with you when you go out, I do not want your business. Douchebag.”

No true conservative, who has their own conceal and carry license, would attack other legal gun owners as “losers” and “douchebags”, so the owner of Backstreets Pub & Deli must be a raving mad liberal who would like nothing more than to take away everyone’s 2nd amendment gun rights.

The owner went on to say that “If it wasn’t so sad, it’d be funny,” regarding the whole situation with the backlash he has received since putting up the stupid sign. We do not want the man to lose his entire business, but a loss in revenue may show him how wrong he was to attack the 2nd amendment, and may prevent him from making the same mistake again in the future.

A firestorm of backlash has been mounting against a South Carolina pub that put a derogatory sign in its store window telling gun owners to keep out.

Backstreets Pub & Deli in Clemson has a one-star rating out of five on Yelp, with pages upon pages of negative comments and reviews by Second Amendment supporters.

The story first gained traction when Twitchy posted several photos of the sign from Twitter.

“NO CONCEALED WEAPONS ALLOWED,” the sign warns. “If you are such a loser that you feel a need to carry a gun with you when you go out, I do not want your business. Douchebag.”

One Twitter user commented: “When do the going out of business specials start? I know a sign spinner that is available.”

When asked if Backstreets would go out of business for the fallout, a Twitter account for the pub replied: “Who knows.”

Terri, on Yelp, gave the pub a one-star rating.

“Not allowing law abiding permit holding background checked conceal carry permit holders into your establishment is begging for criminals to come in and make an easy target out of you,” she said.

“So, you would even insult the soldiers that fought for your freedom and right to post that offensive sign?” asked Tim, who also gave one star. “Would you say the same thing to a police officer? I guess you have the right to be an idiot as well. God bless America, the Constitution and the Second Amendment.”

The owner of the pub, who would only give the name Pete, describes himself as a conservative Democrat, not the “big-ass liberal” people are painting him to be.

Pete told The Washington Times that he’s a big supporter of gun rights and has had a concealed weapons permit since 2001, but doesn’t feel guns have any place in a college town.

“There are cops everywhere. Cameras everywhere. Guns have no place here in a college town,” he said.

As far as the sign, which was apparently only temporary, Pete said he regretted the language he used.

I’m sorry I used that language,” he told the Times. “It just came out wrong because I was frustrated.”

Pete said the local community has rallied behind his pub, but the national backlash has caused him to take his phones off the hook.
