The woman went to the George Washington University Campus Police and reported her claims that TJ Miller took with her sex too far, and says that Miller choked her, punched her in the face, and allegedly bloodying her lip and breaking her tooth.
The articles that we have read make it seem like there may be other women who have accused TJ Miller of sexual misconduct, and we hope they all come forward in the near future to hold Miller accountable for his actions.
T. J. Miller, former star of “Silicon Valley,” and that complex, political cinematic masterpiece, “The Emoji Movie,” is the latest celebrity to stand accused of sexual assault.
According to The Daily Beast, Miller has been the subject of speculation for some time; rumors have long circulated around the entertainment industry about Miller’s collegiate exploits, though until Monday, when one of Miller’s alleged victims came forward to media, details were sketchy.
The woman, who the Daily Beast calls “Sarah,” but who wishes to remain anonymous, says that she had a sexual relationship with Miller while the two were students at George Washington University, and performing as part of the same improv comedy troupe. She claims that, although she consented to intercourse with Miller, he took the act further than she’d agreed to.
“He just tried a lot of things without asking me, and at no point asked me if I was all right,” she said in an interview with the Daily Beast. “He choke[d] me, and I kept staring at his face hoping he would see that I was afraid and [that he] would stop… I couldn’t say anything.”
In one instance, Sarah says, she and Miller were “fooling around” when he began violently shaking her. He eventually punched her in the mouth, leaving her with a bloody lip and a broken tooth. In another, she and Miller had consensual sex that he took too far, choking her and penetrating her in ways she says she vocally objected to.
The morning after the second incident, Sarah told her room-mates what had happened (at least two of her room-mates were able to corroborate the story for reporters). After some cajoling – and several months – Sarah finally brought the incident to the attention of campus police. The matter was eventually referred to a “student court,” the Daily Beast reports, and after a few weeks of trial, resolved.
Sarah says she struggled with psychological and emotional trauma related to the incident for years.
UPDATE: After the sexual abuse allegations against T.J. Miller have been made public, Miller’s animated Comedy Central show “The Gorburger Show” has been canceled after only one season.
